About Grow Local

We help local businesses fix what's holding them back.

We explain everything. Even the bits you could do yourself.

Grow Local is run by Craig. We work with established local businesses from Professional practices, clinics, home-improvement firms, estate agents to specialist trades. We help grow their business. Some want more customers. Some want their week back. Usually it's both.

What we actually do

Most people think they need "a website" or "some marketing." Sometimes that's true. More often, when we sit down and look properly, the real problem is something quieter; enquiries slipping through on a Sunday, the same admin eating three hours every week, customers who'd have come back if anyone had followed up, a phone that can't be answered because everyone's on a job.

So we don't start with a service to sell you. We start with your business, and we look for the bottlenecks, the hidden costs, and the opportunities you're too busy to notice. Then we build the thing that fixes it, whatever that turns out to be.

Sometimes that's an AI receptionist that answers every call. Sometimes it's a proper website that actually brings work in. Sometimes it's a system that quietly does the admin nobody has time for. The free tools on this site are the smallest version of that same idea; useful things, built around how a business really works.

Our strength isn't just SEO, or AI, or websites. It's working out what's really costing you, and building the fix.

We work with all sorts of local businesses; clinics and accountants, garages and showrooms, agents and installers. What they share is a real operation somewhere: premises, appointments, customers who turn up. If you're purely online, we're probably not the right people, and we'd rather say so.

The kinds of things we fix

Every business is different, but the problems rhyme. Here are a few we've helped with, not to show off, but because you might recognise your own week in one of them.

A garage we worked with was losing work without knowing it. The phone rang while everyone was under a car, went to voicemail, and half those people just rang the next garage instead. We set up something that answers every call, takes the details, and texts the customer back, plus a simple system that keeps them updated on the job and tells them when the car's ready to collect.

The owner stopped losing jobs to a ringing phone, and customers stopped chasing for updates

A practice was overwhelmed every Monday morning; the phones jammed, the same questions over and over, reception buried in forms. We built a system that sorts incoming patient enquiries, handles the routine forms, and routes the right things to the right clinician, so the team could spend their time on people rather than paperwork.

Less time on the phones, shorter queues, and a calmer Monday

A home-improvement firm did beautiful work but barely showed up when local people searched. We built them a proper website (fast, clear, and easy to find) with landing pages aimed at the jobs they actually wanted more of. The enquiries that used to go to bigger competitors started coming to them instead.

Found more easily, and winning the jobs they actually wanted

One business was getting enquiries but losing them in the gaps; a form filled in here, an email missed there, no follow-up, no record of who'd asked what. We set up a simple system to capture every enquiry in one place and follow up automatically, so nobody fell through the cracks.

Every enquiry captured, followed up, and nothing forgotten

A growing business had good people spending half their day on repetitive admin; copying details between systems, chasing paperwork, retyping the same things. We automated the dull parts, so the team could get back to the work that actually needed a person.

Hours back every week, spent on work that matters

Often people come to us for one thing and find there were two or three others worth fixing while we were at it. That's usually where the biggest wins are the things you'd stopped noticing because you'd got used to working around them.

How we work

Start small. Understand the business. Fix what's actually costing you. There's no long process and no jargon; just a conversation about where things are leaking or where the week's getting eaten, and an honest view of what's worth doing.

If the free tools are all you need, keep them and we're glad they helped. If there's something bigger worth building, we'll tell you plainly what we'd do, why, and what to expect, before anything starts. And if we don't think we're the right people for it, we'll say that too.

If you'd like a hand

Book a free 30-minute chat.

If any of this sounded like your business, book a call and let's talk it through. No charge, no pressure, and no obligation to do anything afterwards. Half an hour to look at where you're losing time or customers, and whether there's a simple way to fix it. Sometimes the most useful thing we do on that call is point you at something you can sort yourself.

You don't need to know what you want. Most people book because something's been annoying them for months and they can't quite put their finger on it. Working out what the actual problem is; that's the useful half of the conversation.
